Big Star Lake Annual Road Run & Rick Simonson Memorial Golf Outing

On July 13, 2019, the eighth Big Star Lake/Rick Simonson Golf Outing will be held at Marquette Trails Country Club. The outing is sponsored by the Big Star Lake Association and the Lake County Community Foundation, to support the Baldwin Promise. Rick Simonson conceived and helped find the funding to begin this extraordinary college opportunity for Baldwin graduates. This opportunity provides a scholarship of up to $5,000 per year for four years, for tuition and fees, after all federal and state monies are applied, for a potential total of $20,000 for a Michigan institution of higher learning.
LCCF holds the Rick Simonson Fund, and this fund currently supports the Baldwin Promise. It also holds many endowed scholarships, supplementing the Promise funding.
The Big Star Lake Association Road annual road race will be held on August 31, 2019. This event has been held on Labor Day weekend for over 40 years! Last year we had over 150 participants in the 5K and 15K events. Your support is vital to our success each year. Please consider making a donation to this traditional community event by July 4, 2019.
